“Camp Janus depends on donations from regular people like you who want to give our young burn survivors a chance to do what all kids are made to do — have fun — in an extraordinary camp environment. ”
Since our founding over 30 years ago, every donation we receive has gone towards Camp. Because we are a 100% volunteer organization, our overhead costs are minimal. That means every year we can focus on improving the camp experience.
What is Camp Janus?
Through an annual Summer camp experience, we offer burn survivors life skills that help them handle the challenges of their individual, lifelong recoveries.
We promote an environment where burn survivors can become the best versions of themselves possible, so they can thrive in today’s world. Here, both their physical and psychosocial recovery is enhanced, and physical challenges are only incidental.
Camp Janus is free of charge to all participants, including transportation to and from camp from locations in Houston and Galveston.
Camp Janus is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Community & Partnerships
Camp Janus has always been run by a community-focused volunteer Board of Directors. The Board works closely with local organizations like:
Shriners Hospital for Children
Wind & Fire Motorcycle Group
Volunteers from these organizations, as well as adult burn survivors and others with special humanitarian interests, staff the Camp Janus weekend.
All volunteers are individually selected and approved by the Camp Janus Board.
